ARE online FREE SMS websites for real? Can you actually send FREE SMS’s at no cost to you.
I realize that your purpose for being here is that you want to send messages and you want it FREE – the Truth is that you can send FREE messages but Be Careful !!
The great news is that we have done the research for YOU. So discover the truth about FREE SMS…
I decided to spend some time and do a bit of investigation into the actual truth behind the numerous claims on the Web regarding FREE SMS. This is what you need to know before you “SMS for Free”…
SMS’s from a mobile phone can become very expensive. And so it makes total sense that in a world with free email, Facebook and Twitter, we expect that there should be FREE SMS from your PC.
The reality is that somewhere and somehow, somebody has to pay the costs of the so called FREE SMS.
There are some sites that will give you a limited amount of free SMS’s but that is dependent on you registering and then your account status and there are also certain conditions put in place. They will often use your information as a marketing tool and spam your phone and email with adverts. And then to top it off only they then let you send a very limited 3 messages a day.
Other sites will let you send a couple messages a day but you will be limited to 120 characters or less as they use the other 40 characters to add some advertising.
I also found a few other sites that seemed to be the real deal and the process went off initially quite well. I sent the messages 15 days ago and so far have not received anything. So maybe I’m wrong here and these services are free but take a few months to actually send. I’m kidding ! It was all a big ploy to obtain my information.
Be careful and always check the sites credentials. The two sites I checked out were text4fee.net and za.simplesms.co.za. Mydigitallife.co.za is another site that offers free sms’s for its members. And for its members only. It is a very stunted service and is also on a trial basis. So we cannot actually know when the trial is over.
The Cellphone providers in South Africa do actually offer free sms’s from their websites. Vodacom, MTN and Cell C offer a limited amount of sms’s per day and Virgin Mobile generously offers 1000 free sms’s per month which is pretty awesome.
Blue World, the company that is so desperately trying to become another Facebook, do offer free SMS’s for members. The process is slow and not very easy to use and apparently Blue World monitors the SMS volume, very closely.
There are also numerous sites that offer you bulk messaging services and these do come at a reduced rate. There are many advantages with this system. They also provide desktop software that enables you to manage and send messages with the greatest of ease. The company that I researched and found excellent was winsms.co.za
The worst site I found was called freebiesms – the process seems to be very user friendly, quick and easy. The SMS does actually send off for FREE but that’s when the trouble starts. The recipient then receives a message that they need to “open” the sent message. The poor recipient is then charged a ridiculous rate. Approx R30.00 (3$) for one message. So if you want to rip off your friends or family, then possibly this is an option because it costs you nothing financially but might just cost you a little more when you next meet the person.
The best option I have found regarding the sending of free sms’s is a website called mjoy.com. They do give you an option for free sms and they do this by sending the messages via a wap system. I did not find any problems with this application and the great thing is that sms’s can be sent all over the globe and to anyone.
Here are my top 4 tips when trying to SMS for Free online:
- Always read a web sites terms and conditions – you should find them at the bottom of the home page.
- Be aware – not all sites have good intention and they could just be fishing for your personal information.
- Nothing in life is really free!
I hope that this has helped you in the quest to find the FREE SMS and in some way opened your eyes to the truth about sending free messaging online.
