This is destroying the used phone market.
Cingular used to be good…
So What You are Saying is You sell a $300 phone to your Subscribers and by the end of their 2 Years or time for upgrade instead of giving them them cash value for their old phone you want to recycle the phone for your Benefit.
This is why they should make phone with 1 year contact.
Thing is… most people feel they deserve cash/some benefit for their non-functioning phone they’ve stacked away somewhere in their home. It’s difficult to quantify the value of a phone unless it’s in working condition.
I really hope they are taking this seriously and care about this and it isn’t just PR.
Anytime you mass produce something, there should be thought in where the waste is going to go. Especially for things like electronics that have such a (needlessly) short life cycle.
Yea! Its not like their doing anything for the environment anyway!
maybe a reward or something might turn on consumers on recycling their phones. for instance unused or broken phones can be a source of parts that can be used to repair another model.
I never knew that you were suppose to put it in that envelope bag I just used to toss them in haha….. who knew???
i never recycle because it ends up being used to make cheap shit that falls apart. i always burn my garbage, INCLUDING my used cell phones
