Get Ready for a Huge Bill When Calling Your Insurance

May 26th, 2009 No comments

No one wants to make a call to their insurance firm simply because we know that we are going to be on hold for hours upon hours, a lot of folk have had a bad experience with calling a company up that they have signed an agreement with.

I mean if you call up the sales department they will answer your call straight away because they simply do not want to miss out on business. But if you then try to ring the support team they will end up keeping you on hold forever.

Well what occurred to me was that I had to ring my insurance firm to sort out some incorrect details on my policy, so I sat down one afternoon and rang the number. I was quite shocked to be honest as it was sort of a premium rate numbers and when I called the sales line it was a free phone 0800 number.

Well after around 15 minutes I still had not managed to get through the automated service. Five minutes later I got through to the line, but no way was anyone going to answer. They literally kept me on hold playing me shocking music for around an hours and when the call was finally answered the issue was resolved within five minutes.

I was quite angry, I was really annoyed when my bill came through because I got slapped with a huge bill. I just could not bring myself to call them because I would of ended up getting slapped with another bill. Why are businesses during the economic downturn not offering 0800 numbers, because when I renew my policy I am going to find one that does.

Why a Landline Can Make You More Efficient

Communication is something that is very important in this day and age, therefore telephone communication is essential hub to use. The phone is sometimes taken for granted but for some people not having a home phone is a nuisance, even though they may have a mobile.

Most people find it very hard to get anything done if they do not have a home phone for a numerous amount of reasons.  So let’s take a look at the most problematic

1) By calling from a mobile phone you get charged, even if the numbers are 0800 numbers your network provider will still charge you the set per minute rate. And we all have a clue what that means, especially when you are trying to call companies such as your electric suppliers, they make you hold for hours upon hours and when the call is not free it all ends up adding up.
2) Cell phones have a tendency to cut out at funny or weird times, have you ever had that call where you have been holding for hours and then someone picks up but your cell phone decides to cut the call out? It is very much less likely that this is going to happen with a landline.

The above examples show just how crucial it is for homes and businesses to have landline telephone access because even though you may be calling a free phone number or a reduced rate number the network providers do not think of it like that and they would give you the expenses as if it were premium rate numbers, so if you have costs to pay or important calls to make then getting a home phone installed could definitely be the right choice for you.
